Accessing Audit Logs
Go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Audit Logs.
The subtitle reads: “Log of all the activities done in Haystack.”
Required role: Admin.
Filters
Filter | Options |
Date range | Preset: Last 3 Months (default), Last 1 Month, Last 2 Weeks, Last 6 Months, Last 12 Months |
Search | Free-text search (top-right) — searches across action type, user email, role, and date |
Table Columns
The log table displays four columns:

User | Email of the person who performed the action | |

Expanding a Row
Click the expand arrow (↓) on any row to reveal additional details:
Description — a text summary of the action
Metadata — JSON showing old values, new values, and what changed (diffs)
This is useful for seeing exactly what was modified in a settings or team change.
Action Types
Common actions you’ll see in the log:

Actions appear as colored badges in the Action column for easy visual scanning.
User Roles
The Role column shows the user’s role at the time of the action:

Pagination
The table supports pagination with options for 5, 10, or 25 rows per page. Use the pagination controls at the bottom of the table to navigate through entries.

FAQ
Q: Can Members view Audit Logs? A: No. Only Admins can access the Audit Logs page.
Q: Can I delete individual log entries? A: No. Audit Logs are read-only and cannot be modified or deleted.
Q: Can I export audit logs? A: There is no built-in export. Use the search and date range filters to find specific entries, or take screenshots for compliance documentation.
Q: What does the metadata show when I expand a row? A: It shows a JSON object with old values, new values, and the differences. This is useful for seeing exactly what changed in a configuration or team update.
Q: How far back do audit logs go? A: Use the date range filter to view logs up to 12 months back, depending on your plan.
